GATE 2023 Advt Overview:

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay has published notification for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2023. Those Candidates who are interested in the vacancy details & completed all eligibility criteria can read the notification & apply Online. Details of eligibility, age limit, selection procedure, syllabus and all other relevant information are given below.

In the past, several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have used GATE score to shortlist the candidates for employment. Direct recruitment to Group A level posts in Central government, i.e., Senior Field Officer (Tele), Senior Research Officer (Crypto) and Senior Research Officer (S&T) in Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India, is now being carried out on the basis of GATE score. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. The following documents are required to apply online. However, for details documentation please go through the advertisement.
  • Valid personal email id
  • Active Mobile no.
  • Softcopy / Digital Photograph (30mm width x 45mm Height) in jpg/jpeg format with a placard while the placard is being held by the candidate indicating the name of the candidate and date of capture.
Candidates must declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and a mobile phone number throughout the selection process.

GATE 2023 Application process / How to Apply :

Eligible candidates are required to apply online through the website  only. The application form should be filled in English only.

GATE 2023 Application fee :

The online Application fees / GATE 2023 REGISTRATION FEE for each category as mentioned below to be paid by the candidate using ANY ONE of the following mode of payment. a) Net Banking     b) Credit Card      c) Debit Card .
Female candidates Rs. 850/-
SC/ ST/ PWD Rs. 850/-
All other candidates Rs. 1700/-

GATE 2023 Admit card /hall ticket download & print :

The Admit Cards for GATE 2023 would be available for download on the GATE 2023 website of IIT Kanpur only. No printed copy of the Admit Cards will be posted to the candidates. The candidate has to appear at the GATE Examination Centre on the date and time specified in the Admit Card.

GATE 2023 Exam pattern :

GATE 2023 may contain questions of THREE different types in all the papers: (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) carry 1 or 2 marks each, in all the papers and sections. These questions are objective in nature, and each will have choice of four answers, out of which ONLY ONE choice is correct. (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) carrying 1 or 2 marks each in all the papers and sections. These questions are objective in nature, and each will have choice of four answers, out of which ONE or MORE than ONE choice(s) is / are correct. (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions carry 1 or 2 marks each in most of the papers and sections. For these questions, the answer is a signed real number, which needs to be entered by the candidate using the virtual numeric keypad on the monitor (keyboard of the computer will be disabled).

GATE 2023 Syllabus: 

The syllabus for each of the papers is given on GATE website: as well as in the Appendix C of this Information Brochure. Making a choice of the appropriate paper in the GATE application is the responsibility of the candidate. Some guidelines in this respect are suggested below.

Exam day guidelines :

Candidates should carry ONLY Hall Ticket along with Valid Identity proof (in original) and photocopy (Xerox) of the same ID proof inside the hall. Candidate will NOT be allowed to take the examination without valid Hall Ticket & Valid ID Proof other than mentioned below will NOT be permitted/ accepted under any circumstances 1. Aadhaar 2. E-Aadhaar with validated digital signature 3. Indian Passport 4. Voter ID
